The city of Subotica
Subotica is a city and municipality in northern Serbia, in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. It is located about 10 km from the border with Hungary. Today it is Serbia’s fifth largest city, with the municipality of Subotica having 148,401 inhabitants. It is known to be a “city of minorities” as it is a multi-confessional, multi-linguistic and multiethnic town populated by Serbs, Hungarians, Croats, Jews, Roma, Bunjevci, Slovaks and many other groups.
The City Council of Subotica is actively involved in promoting the diversity of the city, partnering with LDA Subotica in many projects such as the Regional Partnership for Intercultural Exchange.
