Geography of Vojvodina
Vojvodina is Serbia’s northern province. It has on its west side, Croatia, on its north side Hungary and on its east side Rumania as neighboring countries.
The region of Vojvodina is part of the vast Pannonian plain which includes as well mainly Hungary and some parts of Rumania, Slovakia and Croatia. Vojvodina is then part of Central Europe, whereas the other parts of Serbia are located in the Balkan Peninsula.
Vojvodina is made up of three regions: Bačka, Banat and Syrmia :

Vojvodina is made up of three regions: Bačka, Banat and Syrmia :
- Bačka region is divided between Serbia and Hungary, but the bigger part remains in Serbia. Its biggest cities are Novi Sad in the south and Subotica in the north. Subotica is located in northern Bačka.
- Banat region is divided between Serbia, Rumania and Hungary. Its main Serbian city is Zrenjanin and its main Rumanian city is Timisoara.
- Finally, Syrmia region (in Serbian : Srem) is equally divided between Croatia and Serbia. It includes among others the cities of Vinkovci and Vukovar in Croatia and the cities of Zemun and Sremska Mitrovica in Serbia.
